New paper in Journal of Organic Chemistry "TABF as a Double Proton Sponge: Steric Preorganization versus Antiaromatic Destabilization". In a collaboration with Prof. Dr. Wolfram Sander’s group at Ruhr University Bochum, we introduced TABF (1,1′,8,8′-tetraazabifluorenylidene), a pyridine-based, bifluorenylidene-derived proton-sponge scaffold capable of two-fold proton binding. This axial chiral proton-sponge scaffold provides a new tool in the organic superbase pool, offering potential for future applications in asymmetric catalysis chemistry.

The paper also feature the sole front cover of the current issue of the journal.
